X'kabantun was the ruler of the largest and most powerful sahuagin kingdom on the face of Conatha which, according to tradition, was named after him. X'kabantun was aware that spelljamming vessels landed on the surface of Conatha, but he didn't possess a sophisticated enough worldview to truly understand the ramifications, or the opportunities, that they represented.[1]

X'kabantun was a middle-aged male sahuagin.[1]
Personality[]
An aggressive and militant warlord, X'kabantun was a vicious but charismatic warrior, and although he wasn't particularly intelligent, he was a cunning strategist. He could sense an opponent's (or ally's) weaknesses and determine the best way to exploit them to his own advantage.[1]

X'kabantun ruled a large and influential kingdom located in the northern polar regions of Conatha. It was comprised of a confederation of five smaller tribes forged together in an uneasy alliance, each with their own tribal leader.[2]
Enemies[]
The sahuagin kingdoms of Conatha were engaged in a perpetual war with each other and the merfolk kingdoms of Loquasti and Varanais.[3] X'kabantun's most hated rival was the kingdom of K'klosh, the second largest sahuagin kingdom on Conatha. The war between the two nations raged unabated for decades, costing hundreds of thousands of lives, with no sign that hostilities would die down anytime soon.[4]
