Prince Villithandra was an illithid ambassador who attended the war council called in response to Vodoni incursions into the Known Spheres in the Spelljammer campaign setting.[1][2]

"We call for revenge! We shall eat their skulls and scourge both their bodies and their minds. They shall pay as all those who have trespassed against us have in the past and will in the future... with their lycanthropic lives!"
- Prince Villithandra, Illithid royal heir[3]

Overview[]

Prince Villithandra was an illithid ambassador who attended the council of war called by Prince Andru of Bral in response to raids carried out by hostile forces from the Vodoni Empire.[2][1] This council would ultimately lead to the formation of what would become known as the Free Space Alliance.[4]

Description[]

Prince Villithandra wore robes of mithril and gold and bore a symbol signifying his authority on his forehead.[5] He may actually have been a nice guy, if it weren't for the fact that he was an illithid with an itchy trigger finger. The prince was out for blood, no matter how peaceful he may have appeared to outsiders, and advocated for war[6] in revenge for Vodoni incursions into illithid space.[7] In battle the prince preferred to blast large numbers of enemies at a distance, and had been known to "accidentally" catch allies in the blast radius of his fireballs.[1]

Possessions[]

Villithandra wore a cloak of displacement, a pair of bracers of defence, and a ring of fire resistance. He also carried a staff of fire and four potions of extra-healing.[1]

History[]

The mind flayers were the first to suffer casualties at the hands of the Vodoni enforcers. However, because illithids prefer to inhabit the outer reaches of wildspace, far from the teeming masses of "lesser" races, no outsiders really knew just how much they had endured. They were attacked repeatedly by the merciless forces of the Vodoni Empire's many scout vessels that had begun exploring what was to them "Untouched Space".[8][9]
