Unipaxala, the Peace Asteroid, is an asteroid settlement in the Spelljammer campaign setting.[2][3][4]

"Until the entire universe feels the peace of the Golden Light, we must sometimes tread the twilight."
- Senior Priest of Unipaxala[1]

Overview[]

Unipaxala is an asteroid settlement whose inhabitants are pacifists and revere the philosophical concept of Universal Peace. The basic tenet of their belief is "to revere peace in all its myriad forms, to bring no harm to others, and resolve conflict through the powers of the mind".[5] As pacifists, the Unipaxalans have no wish to harm others, even to protect themselves, and instead rely on a magical device known as the Ice-Ring Projector to defend their home. When activated, the Projector envelopes the entire asteroid in an impenetrable shell of ice which is impervious to damage from siege weapons or ramming ships.

Location[]

Unipaxala is located on the fringes of an asteroid belt.[6]

Inhabitants[]

Unipaxala is a human religious community with a structured hierarchy who revere the philosophical concept of Universal Peace. Their symbol is a golden winged-figure, sometimes combined with a golden rising sun, possibly representing the "golden light" of peace.[1][7]

As a spelljamming community, Unipaxala owns a small fleet of damselfly-class ships.[8][7]

History[]

Unipaxala was betrayed by one of its own, a mad-woman named Seren, and invaded by neogi and their umber hulk slaves. The inhabitants were eventually freed through the efforts of Pax Ahlmuhn, high priest of Unipaxala, his nephew Tember, the winged warrior Jasmine, the infamous pirate-mage Meredith, and the priestess Kirstig and her followers.[3][4]
