Tir is the homeworld of the fainil and the telvar.[1]
Overview[]
Tir is a world with a diverse population and mountainous regions. Tir's early history was dominated by a deadly conflict between the gray elves and the drow. Eventually the gray elves drove the drow underground, where the dark elves began plotting their return to the surface.[1]
Inhabitants[]
Fainil[]
The Fainil are a race of demon/drow crossbreeds, similar to the elven half-fiends known as the fey'ri from Toril in Realmspace.[2] When the drow were driven underground, they plotted their return to the surface for centuries. One of the challenges they faced were the winged warriors known as the Telvar, who would wreak havoc on the loosely organized humanoid tribes the drow were planning to use to spearhead their conquest.
To counter the Telvar's aerial mobility, the drow initiated a selective breeding process between themselves and their tanar’ri allies, resulting in the creation of the Fainil. When the drow attacked the surface world, the Fainil were at the forefront of their greatest victories. However, after 50 years of continuous warfare, the drow were destroyed or driven underground. The Fainil withdrew to their mountain fortresses, Morvan and Moddan, which withstood repeated assaults. The Fainil remain in their isolated strongholds to this day, gaining strength. Since the war on Tir, the Fainil have spread slowly to other worlds, though the center of their society remains in the fortresses of Morvan and Moddan.[3]
Telvar[]
The Telvar are a race of savage winged humanoids who live in mountainous regions far from civilized lands. They live in large clans and avoid contact with other races whenever possible. They are extremely tall, averaging almost 8 feet in height, and are quick and agile but not nearly as strong as humans or even elves. They have abnormally long fingers and toes, and can use their feet to grip small objects. The Telvar have large feathered wings that grow from their shoulders, large, sharply pointed ears, as well as large eyes with two sets of eyelids.[4]
