Salzarspace is a crystal sphere dominated by the Vodoni Empire, and ruled with an iron fist by the Emperor Vulkaran. The sphere is named for its principal inhabitants, the Salzarians.[1]

Overview[]

One of the strangest spheres in known space, Salzarspace is comprised of one small water planet at the center of the system, surrounded by eight fiery stars that roll around the inside of the crystal shell. When two stars meet, they pass through each other, accompanied by a fiery explosion. Besides the obvious dangers in entering or leaving the sphere (including portals in the crystal shell that open and close at odd intervals), magic does not operate within this sphere, including spelljamming devices! Travel within the system is limited to oars, sails, or physical flight only. Because the Emperor believes there is no valuable resources to be exploited, no Vodoni outposts have been established within this sphere.[1]

Location[]

Salzarspace is part of a stable configuration of 12 spheres in the phlogiston known as the Vodoni Empire, which includes Vodonispace, Golotspace, Gorthspace, Kofuspace, Kra'akenspace, Lostspace, Passarspace, Thasiaspace, Vergonspace, Vodonikaspace and Zalanispace.[2][3]

Inhabitants[]

Although there are only a few hundred known Salzarians in existence, as a race they should not be taken lightly. Resembling gigantic balls of water, averaging 500 feet (152 meters) in diameter, the Salzarians are incredibly resilient and are able to absorb enormous amounts of damage. Because of their watery nature, finding one of them within their watery planet is almost as difficult as defeating one in combat. In fact, these huge, watery creatures are also immune to all forms of magic.

Although this is one of the first spheres the Vodoni Empire invaded, the Salzarians only lost one member of their race in the attack. However, to them this was an incalculable loss, as Salzarians are essentially immortal. For this reason, they agreed to abide by the decrees of Emperor Vulkaran.[1]
