Overview

The Nightworld of Vlad Tolenkov is a dark sunless world, which can only sustain a few lichens and carnivorous plants (mostly due to the effects of ancient magic). The ruler of this world is the vampire lord, Vlad Tolenkov, who is a member of a powerful and influential cabal of vampires known as the Union of Eclipses whose dominion spans across multiple worlds. Although each member claims to lead the Union, they have all in fact sworn fealty to the noble court of Kanchelsis, a vampiric demigod who resides within the Lair of the Beast and Mansion of the Rake on the 487th layer of the Abyss.

The drow goddess Lolth admires this dark court and has allied herself with Vlad Tolenkov, treating him as a diplomat, lover and strategic advisor.
