Nephroon was an arcane merchant who specialized in providing spelljamming technology to adventurers, outlaws and other ne'er do wells in in the Spelljammer campaign setting.[1]
"Riches and adventure beyond what this world can promise await those willing to spend the time and the gold to get them. I, Nephroon sell the way. Seek me... if you dare."
- Nephroon[2]
Overview[]
Nephroon was an arcane merchant who specialized in setting up pop-up stores in various groundling locations, selling spelljamming technology, helms and ships to adventurers, brigands and outlaws by enticing them with the mysteries and riches of wildspace.[1]
Description[]
Nephroon was a lanky, 12-foot tall, blue-skinned giant who wore armor and was armed with a longsword.[2]
Possessions[]
Nephroon was equipped with a suit of arcane armor and a belt of the arcane, and was armed with a longsword and a wand of paralyzation.[2]
Activities[]
Nephroon would announce his presence in a particular town or city by posting numerous flyers, detailing where, when and for how long he would have certain esoteric items for sale. Of late, he did business out of the cellar of The Horn of the Unicorn tavern, where he offered a Dromond equipped with a minor helm and a locator for the paltry sum of 115,000 gold pieces. He was, of course, willing to accept magical items in lieu of cash, even offering a substantial discount to encourage first time buyers.[2]
If Nephroon was attacked by his erstwhile customers, perhaps hoping to rob him, he would at first try to encourage them to leave: if they insisted on continuing to attack him, Nephroon would then paralyze them, before confining them inside a forcecage enveloped in magical silence. He would then sell his captives as slaves to any local mind flayers at a later date.[2]
Relationships[]
Servants[]
Nephroon was accompanied by a bodyguard of eight warriors in enchanted full plate armor, armed with a spear and carrying a longsword at their hip. Each warrior was in fact a skeleton, wearing specially enchanted armor that allowed them to move in utter silence.[1]
