A Lantern of Continual Light is a magical item from the Spelljammer campaign setting.[1]
Description[]
A lantern of continual light resembles a standard hooded or bull's eye lantern with tinted glass, and fitted with a gemstone enchanted with a continual light spell.[2]
Powers[]
Lanterns of continual light are popular with ships that travel through the phlogiston since they can provide constant illumination without the risk of fire. Each lantern's glass is tinted to reduce the glare of the continual light spell cast within, and are provided with a hood that allows the light to be covered at will. Some models have a shutter installed so that they may be used to signal other ships as far as 5 miles (8 kilometers) away.
