Kofuspace is a crystal sphere dominated by the Vodoni Empire, and ruled with an iron fist by the Emperor Vulkaran.[1] The sphere is named for the Kofu, a native race of dark-skinned elves.
Overview[]
An anomaly among the known spheres, the Kofu sphere is completely solid, filled with black crystal shell material straight through to the core. The "planets" of the system are actually just huge air-bubbles within the solid material, and each of the three major 'bubbles' has a small sun at its center.
The only way to reach a Kofu "bubble planet" is to accidentally discover a portal tunnel and sail down it... fast! Inter-dimensional travel is also very helpful. Portals between "bubble planets" open seemingly at random, though it is possible that some of the more powerful denizens can manipulate them directly. The Vodoni maintain only a few garrisons in each bubble.[1]

Kofuspace is part of a stable configuration of 12 spheres in the phlogiston known as the Vodoni Empire, which includes Vodonispace, Golotspace, Gorthspace, Kra'akenspace, Lostspace, Passarspace, Salzarspace, Thasiaspace, Vergonspace, Vodonikaspace and Zalanispace.[2][3]
Inhabitants[]
The peaceful dark-skinned elven race known as the Kofu superficially resemble their cousins the Drow; however the Kofu exhibit none of their kin's unsavory habits, cultural mores or abilities. They are primarily farmers who tend enormous farms all year round. Due to their constant exposure to sunlight, they have no understanding of the concept of "night".[1]
