Hurricane Halvor's Spacedock is a (dis)reputable shipyard and repair facility owned and operated by Hurricane Halvor and his wife Thaerea. The Spacedock is a large asteroid, littered with bits and pieces from wrecked and partially salvaged ships. The Spacedock can apparently move under its own power, and can be found in various crystal spheres. Halvor employs a crew of six energetic and highly skilled (and well-armed) gnomish craftsmen to carry out ship repairs. Halvor has also hired the "Shields", a mercenary adventuring group, to provide protection for his establishment.
Halvor charges outrageously high fees, but the dwarven shipwright and his crew do good work. Halvor will buy parts of ships, and even complete wrecks, no questions asked, and deals in used weapons of all sorts. Halvor also fences stolen, seized and salvaged goods and may have available a selection of helms, locators, passage devices, star charts, second-hand ships, and whatever else a spacefarer may need.
The secret of Halvor's Spacedock is that it harbors a sarphardin nursery deep within the asteroid. When the creatures grow leery of a particular locale, or if Halvor asks them to, the adult sarphardin simply tow the asteroid somewhere else, supplemented by a hidden major helm crewed by the Shields. Three crowns of the void have been hidden in crevices located around and deep within the asteroid, ensuring the atmosphere remains rich and clean.[1]
