Haelyn, the Protector, is the god of noble war and leadership from the Cerilian pantheon.[2][4][3]
Overview[]
Haelyn is the ruler of the gods, the lord of courage, justice, and chivalry, and the patron of kings and warriors. As a mortal, Haelyn was the leader of the Anuireans, the brother of Roele (the first emperor of the Anuirean Empire), and the half-brother of Raesene the Black Prince (once champion of Azrai the Shadow at Deismaar, and currently the abomination known as the Gorgon). He was the champion of the god Anduiras, and inherited his power at the battle of Mount Deismaar over 1,500 years ago.[2][4]
Haelyn is married to the sea-goddess Nesirie,[5] and together they have one son named Cuiraécen, the god of battle, who serves as his father's herald and champion.[6]
Description[]
Haelyn appears as a tall, clear-eyed armored warrior carrying a sword and a sceptre, and surrounded by an aura of golden light.[2]
Holy Symbol[]
Haelyn's symbol is a sword and a sunburst.[2][3]
Celestial Symbol[]
Haelyn is associated with the constellation Haelyn the Protector, which resembles a warrior in the en garde position. The top most star is known as Haelyn's Head or the Crown of Glory.[1]
Favored Weapon[]
Haelyn wields a greatsword of sharpness and disruption.[2]
Realm[]
Haelyn maintains a realm known as Honor's Glory on Mercuria, the second or Golden Heaven of the Seven Heavens of Mount Celestia.[7][8] Honor's Glory is a realm of shining steel and bright ideals, and is reserved for those strategists and generals who fight honorably for the greater good. The realm is a land of rolling green hills, covered in farmlands and beautiful forests, and is dotted with mighty castles whose white marble walls are beacons of steadfast strength. The greatest fortress of all lies at the centre of the realm and is known as Ilnuire.[3]
Worship[]
Priests of Haelyn traditionally serve as advisors to kings and as guardians of the investiture of regency. They are the most respected clergy in lands dominated by the Anuireans. Haelyn's paladins serve as errant knights and can dispense justice as they see fit within the lands of Anuireans.[2]
