The Giff homeworld is an otherwise unknown celestial body in the Spelljammer campaign setting.[1][2]
Overview[]
The giff have wandered wildspace for so long that they no longer know where their own homeworld is located. Their own tales describe a verdant jungle planet covered in swamps, mangrove trees and fruit bearing plants. The few mountains are rich in metals and hidden caches of weapons, and smoke powder flows like the milk and honey of some human's vision of paradise.
Rumors[]
There are numerous tales concerning the giff homeworld, especially since no living giff has ever seen it. The most common tales among spacefarers include the following:[1]
- The giff destroyed their homeworld and had to be rescued by the Arcane.
- The giff sold their world, and their lives, to the Arcane in exchange for spelljammer helms that, it turned out, they couldn't use.
- The giff homeworld lies in a distant sphere just beyond the range of a standard spelljamming ship, where such warrior races are common place, and where the losers in battle are exiled to the Known Spheres.
