The Geonomicon is a large book containing detailed information on over 80 planets and other celestial bodies in the Spelljammer campaign setting.[1][2]

Description[]

The Geonomicon is a large bound book that contains detailed information on at least 80 individual planets from various crystal spheres. Each entry is divided into sections detailing general features of each planet, such as its size, composition, climate, gravity, and diurnal cycle, as well as the disposition of its landmasses, ecology, and sentient life forms.

Each copy of the Geonomicon typically includes dozens of blank pages so that each navigator or captain could write down information about the worlds they encountered that weren't included in the concordance. When the ship eventually returned to its home port, or some other world with a major spelljamming civilization, the captain could have the new entries transcribed to a master version of the Geonomicon, which would be included in all future copies of the great book. The captain's name would also be added to a list of contributors - all great explorers of the void - on the fly leaf.

History[]

The explorer Trevis Pelor, captain of the squidship Far Star, added thirteen entries to his personal copy of the Geonomicon, detailing previously unknown worlds he had encountered. Captain Pelor planned on having his additions transcribed to a master version of the Geonomicon when he eventually returned to his home port, or to another world with a major spelljamming civilization.[1]

The half elf Djan Alantri was able to identify the fire world Garrash from Vistaspace, based purely on a description provided by his captain Teldin Moore, having previously studied a copy of the Geonomicon with almost a hundred entries.[2]
