This article is about the deity Sirrion, if you are looking for the planet of the same name see Sirrion.

Sirrion the Firemaster is a god of fire, creativity, passion, strength, sun and renewal[1][2] from the crystal sphere known as Krynnspace.[6] Sirrion is the divine personification of transformation, and encourages mortals to embrace a life of passionate and creative existence in order to grow and change.[1]

Overview[]

Sirrion’s dominant trait is that of fire, both literally and metaphorically. Fire is the element that brings change and transformation; it represents the warmth of love and passion or the creative spark of artists and alchemists. All who produce, honor, and worship this power are beloved of Sirrion. Chaotic and unpredictable, Sirrion is nevertheless opposed to needless or undirected destruction, feeling that all change should produce something and mark a transition between the old and the new. As a patron of the arts and of alchemy, Sirrion’s fiery presence does much to promote this ideal.

Legends say that he fashioned his partner, Shinare, from wondrous metals, just as he provided the fire for Reorx’s Worldforge and the spark of divinity within all life.[1]

Description[]

Sirrion appears either as a handsome, smooth talking, smoldering individual with red-blond hair and amber eyes, or as a tall, muscular giant of a man with flaming red hair. He sometimes appears as an erratic and unpredictable member of one of the smaller races, such as a gnome or a kender. Flames and embers always glow a little brighter or a little hotter when Sirrion is in the vicinity.[1] When he manifests on the surface of the planet Sirrion, he usually assumes the form of an efreeti or an azer.[7]

Holy Symbol[]

Sirrion's holy symbol is multicolored flames.[4][1][2]

Celestial Symbol[]

Sirrion is associated with the planet Sirrion.[1][2] His worshipers believe Sirrion resides at the center of the planet. However, thus far only his avatars have manifested on the surface of the world, and they usually assume the form of an efreeti or an azer when they do. The planet functions like a powerful wizard's eye or giant crystal ball, allowing Sirrion to monitor events throughout the sphere, especially those that occur on the world of Krynn.[7]

Favored Weapon[]

Sirrion wields a heavy flail known as the Flaming Strike.[1][2]

Realm[]

In the cosmology of Krynnspace, Sirrion maintains a realm within the Hidden Vale, alongside the other Gods of Balance.[8][9]

In the Great Wheel Cosmology, Sirrion resides within his realm, known as the Flame Void, which is located on the Ever-Changing Chaos of Limbo.[5][10]

Worship[]

Priest of Sirrion are required maintain an ever-burning flame within their homes or local temple. On a daily basis they must tend to the communal fires, such as those in smithies, bakeries, taverns and other public places. During the evening, especially in small towns, Sirrion's priests should build a great bonfire, and using their power make the flames dance and change color, to entertain the children and teach about their inner fire. Priests of Sirrion serve as firefighters, attempting to control fires that break out in homes and forests. However, they also use fire to clean out the old, to make way for the new, which can bring them into conflict with more conservative members of the community.[2]
