Figureheads of Wondrous Power are magical items mounted on spelljamming ships in the Spelljammer campaign setting.[1][2]
Description[]
A figurehead of wondrous power typically resembles one of the carved wooden statues used as simple decoration at the prow of any seafaring ship. However, the various figureheads of wondrous power have been magically endowed with a variety of powers to benefit a spelljamming ship.
Each type of figurehead is carved from a specific type of wood and incorporates a particular type of gem. Each figurehead taps into the spelljamming energies of a ship, allowing its powers to become activated. Each figurehead will only operate under the command of a 10th level or greater helmsman, and the ship must be equipped with a major helm for the item to function fully.
Types of Figureheads[]
- Figurehead of attacks: This figurehead allows the helmsman to engage in combat by animating a wooden golem-like construct.
- Figurehead of disguise: This figurehead allows the helmsman to envelope the ship in an illusionary disguise.
- Figurehead of protection: This figurehead comes in a variety of types, featuring a versatile range of powers that may be combined to produce a custom figurehead.
- Figurehead of speed: This figurehead boosts the vessels ship's rating, increasing the ship's tactical speed.
