The Dark Stars are mysterious objects that orbit the system primary Oerth in the crystal sphere known as Greyspace.[1]
Description[]
At least three mysterious objects, known to spacefarers as "Dark Stars", are believed to orbit Oerth in a region of wildspace somewhere between the Spectre and the crystal shell. These apparently spherical objects are several miles in diameter, with gravity fields that extend some 500 yards (500 metres) from their surfaces. They neither emit, nor reflect light , and are totally black. Practically invisible in wildspace, they can only be seen when they occlude another object. They have no atmosphere whatsoever.
According to legend, no ship has ever landed on a Dark Star and survived. If these tales are to be believed, any object that physically touches the surface of a Dark Star is instantly and irrevocably destroyed.[1]
