Aebrynisspace is an otherwise unnamed crystal sphere that is home to the BIRTHRIGHT Campaign Setting, and contains the world of Aebrynis.[1]
Overview[]
Aebrynis is considered something of a backwater, and has few sites of interest. Beyond that, nothing is known about this sphere.[3]
Celestial bodies[]
Aebrynisspace is believed to be a heliocentric system,[note 1] with the system primary, a fire body known as the Sun, lying at the center of the sphere and orbited by at least one planet, its satellite, and a variety of asteroids and other celestial objects.[4]
The Sun (primary)[]
The Sun is the system primary[note 1][note 2] of Aebrynisspace, and is a fire body.[5][6]
Aebrynis[]
Aebrynis is the principle planet of the system and has one moon.[2][5][7]
Constellations[]
The sphere is assumed to have numerous constellations; however, only the constellation of Haelyn the Protector is mentioned. The precession of the stars that make up Haelyn are used by the Anuireans in their calendar, known as the Book of Days. The constellation is six stars high, and resembles a warrior in the en garde position. The top most star, whose disappearance below the horizon on Aebrynis marks the winter solstice, is known as Haelyn's Head or the Crown of Glory.[5]
Appendix[]
Notes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 Because Aebrynis undergoes 'general precession', as shown by the movement of the stars, as well as experiencing various seasons and an annual meteor shower, this article assumes that the planet orbits around its primary sun.
- ↑ The human racial group known as the Khinasi believe that the sun circles Aebrynis each day, though there is no proof to validate this belief.
